Boxtops for books
Encouraging children to read can be challenging, especially if the selection of books on offer in the school library is limited or in need of revival.
Box Tops for Books offers FREE fiction and non-fiction books from Dorling Kindersley in exchange for tokens which can be found on the top of special packs of Nestlé cereals.
Over £2.5 million worth of books have been sent to the thousands of participating schools over the last seven years. The Box Tops for Books website offers information on the scheme for coordinators and also literacy resources for teachers, including curriculum-linked interactive whiteboard activities.
Box Tops for Books supports the teaching of literacy, for example through the National Curriculum and the Curriculum for Excellence in Scotland, by helping schools provide a broad range of books that inspire, teach, amuse and challenge pupils.
Help children to develop their imagination, critical awareness and their speaking and listening skills by offering them a wider selection of popular and engaging books.
Simply cut out the token from the top of your pack of Nestlé Cereal and give it to your child's school. The school can then redeem the tokens and choose from over 200 fantastic titles. It takes as little as 10 tokens to get one book!
