About the court
The court markings are the boundaries for every shot you take.
(You might say they provide order in the court!) These markings
are common to almost all tennis courts, regardless of the
surface. Let's take a walk around the big rectangle together,
and we'll show you what's what.
The court A tennis court is 23.8 metres (78 feet) long. It's 8.2
metres (27 feet) wide for singles play, 11 metres (36 feet)
for doubles.
Line by line
There are a number of different lines on a tennis court, and
these lines separate the court into different sections. The
lines can seem a little complicated at first, but you'll soon
get used to the layout.
