this section should help you learn how to prioritize so you
can enjoy both your working and personal life to the full.

How to: deal with worry
Yes
Questions to ask
No
Trying to restrict worrying to a set time of day
Identify what you are worrying about: is it important?
Put it out of your mind
List your options and choose the most appropriate
Is there anything you can do immediately to alleviate the
worry?
Plan to keep yourself distracted
Plan what action you can take and when
Is there anything you could do in the future to alleviate
the worry?
Focus on what you are affirming in your choices, rather
than what you are giving up. In thinking about work-life balance,
people describe making trade-offs, for example "I'm
going to work fewer hours and trade-off my career to spend
more time with my kids". The language of trade offs,
though, emphasises the negative rather than the positive
what you are losing rather than what you are liberating. Instead
of talking about making trade-offs, think "trade-ons".
