'I saw this very comprehensive book at a friend''s house and I plan to buy it for myself. I like books that are arranged by ingredient such as Jane Grigson''s Good Things and vegetable books. It is ideal if you are cooking with a new ingredient, such as unusual fish, and need cooking or recipe information. It also takes you away from your customary meals to new recipes. For example there are some spices (such as tamarind) that I have used in curries but not as a main flavouring. However I think the paperback is still expensive at just under £20.'
