'Although this book is labelled as an allotment cookbook, I have found that it is generally a very good cookbook even if you do not have the luxury of an allotment to call upon for your ingredients. It has some very interesting ways of preserving pickles and ingredients and best of all the recipes are quite easy to follow and not time consuming like some books I have experienced in the past. Separating the book into the 4 seasons is a good touch as it helps place the recipes in the environment that you would associate them with. Overall an excellent cookbook and surely will have its readers engrossed in its innovative cooking ideas as it did for myself!!'
