'This book has saved my garden. All I have is pots, many of which are the same because I didn''t know what I was doing. In the brief time I''ve had this book I''ve embraced a whole range of planting ideas to make my garden more fun, and they''re not even the reason I wanted the book. I''m a ''wannabe'' vegetable gardener, and that''s where the book comes into its own. Not only helping me with ideas for vegetables and varieties, but how to grow and - best of all - top tips that would''ve been great to know if I''d found this book at the start of the summer. Explanations for planting and care at the back of the book have also proved very useful, with clear photographs so even a beginner like me can undersand what''s needed. A very useful book, the top tips alone make it my new gardening bible.'

'How to Grow Plants in Pots is a beautifully illustrated guide to growing a variety of plants and shrubs, both indoors and outdoors. The first half of the book is devoted to plants, shrubs and trees in pots. There are handy tips on most pages telling you how to maintain healthy foliage,how to promote new blooms and how to keep pests at bay. The second half of the book gave me loads of ideas on growing vegetables and fruit in both pots and other containers. I will certainly be trying Strawberries in hanging baskets, and the prospect of having fully grown apples on a tree using a dwarf rootstock is very appealing. All in all, an excellent and extensive guide to growing plants in pots.'

'This beautifully illustrated book shows that virtually any type of plant can be successfully grown in a pot or container - covering everything from Blueberries to Pear Trees. Handy ''Top Tips'', planting techniques and inspiring container designs will motivate anyone to become green fingered, regardless of whether they have a garden or not.'

'This book, rather like the Slipper Orchids, looks too good to be real. Vibrant photographs jump off the page. The editorial is enticing and encouraging, eg.''where they can bask in full sun''. Very clever planting ideas. I never knew there were so many possibilites for containers. I love the idea of using an old ladder for standing plants on and mixing shapes and sizes. ''Keeping pests & diseases at bay'' is an essential chapter. I also like the ''mulching & feeding''. The user friendly green strips pinpoint the chapters easily. There is a craze for growing herbs and vegetables, everybodys seems to be at it, so ''Planning Your Crops in Pots'' is essential. Frost-proof fuschsias on page 94 would be ideal for Dartmoor living. I am going to make my garden stand out from the crowd with these inspirational container designs and interesting plant combinations.'
