'When I was a child growing plants usually involved jam jars, blotting paper and beans or cress grown on damp cotton wool. I was pleasantly surprised by the projects this book offered. There are magical fairy rings, floral tepees for kids to play in, even growing sunflowers had an added twist! Lots of edible projects, even a section for growing food for your pets. You don''t need a garden either as there are loads of ideas for container gardening too. A lovely colourful book that I''m sure will be pulled off the shelf when kids want to do something a bit adventurous. The projects would need a bit of forward planning but isn''t that half the fun of gardening? 'This exciting new book takes a fresh approach to gardening as it is aimed at encouraging children to try fun ways of growing plants, with quick and impressive results.
This bright and colourful book also contains interesting and educational tips throughout.
The indoor and outdoor projects have clear and easy to follow instructions for children of all ages and appeal to boys and girls alike.
The importance of recycling and re-using various materials is promoted throughout this book in projects such as making your own Compost, Flower pot people and a Garden buddy - a modern day scarecrow and fun hanging decoration too.
Our children really enjoyed making these projects along with a Wild-west Cacti scene using their old toys.
You can also grow plants for your pets to enjoy and make healthy snacks for the whole family.
My family thoroughly recommend this book to anyone with children and feel it would also be very useful for pre-school and primary school teachers to help inspire their pupils.'

'This book is packed full of information and clever ideas. As an adult who gardens a lot i found it very interesting and sparked a lot of ideas. It seems to be aimed at young children (as depicted in the photos on each page) but the style of the projects, the words and timespan they are to be made over is much more suited to an older child. A good book for the family just starting to garden. Lots of info for grown ups that can be read through and then shared with children, using the book as a reminder of when and how to do things at each stage. Very nicely broken up into small projects. These could be tackled one or two per year as confidence grew. A nice mix of flowers and vegetables.'

'A great little book that will inspire teachers and parents. It is written in child friendly terms, explains the processes in sowing, planting and harvesting. It gives you a calender, tells you the amount of weeks needed for a project. The clear step be step instructions and diagrams are fabulously illustrated. The book does not overload you with too many projects or ideas or any that cannot be easily sourced from your local garden centre or home recycling. I shall enjoy using it with my Year 3 class. '
