Customer Review:

5 stars Review by: Michelle Ford, 22 December 2009

'It would be hard to find a more comprehensive book about world cheeses!
There are preliminary notes about different types of cheese and how they are made, then the book is split into sections by country. More common cheeses have a double page spread, with others three to a page. Most descriptions also include photos, giving a good idea of what the cheese will look like when you buy it, and also what the close up appearance of the cheese is. As well as tasting notes for each cheese, there is useful information about how best to use them - which ones are good in sauces, which work well on a cheeseboard, or are good grilled, etc. They also all have suggested wine pairings.
This book is full of interesting and helpful information for anyone who appreciates cheese, or enjoys food generally. It has certainly whetted my appetite and I think I will be exploring some of the mail order suppliers listed at the back of the book in order to try out some of the more unusual cheeses!'
