'This book is a must have for all photographers. It has amazing tips, and allows the reader insight from a season professional.
With great advice on everything one needs to know to buy a camera, to light for any situation and to even photo editing in software like Photoshop or Corel.
I had the hardest time putting down this wonderful book. The images and color theme support the whole learning experience so that you are not just reading how to say shoot a crowd at an event, but you can see it and with the dynamic color coordination, you can use it as a quick tip , should you and I recommend you do, keep this book as a reference .
I recommend this to all my photography students, both online and in private sessions .
I have always loved DK books and this book just reminds me of the excellence DK strives to provide everyone who desires to learn from the best source- DK books.'

'How To Photograph Absolutely Everything by Tom Ang is a fantastic addition to any photographer''s library, whether you are just taking your first steps with a new digital camera or are looking to brush up on your photographic techniques.
The book is split into eight sections - the first focuses on the basic principals and elements of digital photography in a jargon free style, explaining how to get to grips with your digital camera.
The following six sections - People, Landscapes, Animals, Architecture, Events and Artist Expression give examples of how to capture aspects of your life to the greatest potential, with easy to understand step-by-step guides and photographs illustrating how to achieve the desired effect. Most examples are accompanied with the camera settings that were used to create the photo, along with hints & tips to make sure everything goes smoothly when you try it yourself.
The eighth section focuses on other applications of photography, which gives a brief but comprehensive guide to practical photography covering topics such as online auctions, scrapbooking and cataloguing collections. There is also an article on ''What The Eye Can''t See'' which highlights other photography techniques like Kirlian and Strobe photography.
Overall it is a thoroughly enjoyable read and a great tool for improving your understanding of photographic techniques. Tom Ang''s friendly and relaxed style leaves little more to do than choose a topic, pick up your camera and take some stunning digital photos!'

'A recipe book for digital photographers! This is a beautifully illustrated book full of tips and tricks on how to take photographs of almost everything. The book is split into eight chapters covering subjects including Elements of photography, People, Landscapes and Nature, Animals, Architecture and Events.
This book is easy to read with an abundance of stunning photographs, which captures your attention and aids your understanding of the advice being given. Each section is well laid out, with snippets of jargon free tips, hints and guidance on how to set up different types of shoots and examples for you to then try out. The book does not blind you with technical jargon, so would particularly suit the enthusiastic beginner to intermediate level compact digital and DSLR user who is simply looking to improve their photographic skills.
This is a truly inspirational book and an essential guide, which I know I will find myself dipping into again and again.'

'This book does exactly what it says - in a very accessible way; I had to fight my two kids to read to the end of the book! Everyone got a turn, though, because we all kept running off to try another of the simply described but oh-so-helpful tips. It''s really improved our photographs already, even on the most basic camera - and Tom Ang caters for all. A glorious book, full of beautiful pictures to inspire you, and the guidance to lift your photography to the next level.'

'This book is an asset for both those new to digital photography, and the more experienced.
Packed full of tips, hints, and inspiration, every page opens up new possibilities.
The illustrations support the text, providing examples of good and bad practice.
It is a solid book that I will keep returning to over again.
The sections cover just about every type of photography you can think of; abstract, portrait, landscape, macro, informal and formal, product photography.
Anyone with an interest in photography would love this book, would make a great gift for a special someone, or a perfect treat for yourself.'
