Monty Don

Now the main presenter of BBC TV's leading gardening programme, Gardener's World, Monty Don is one of the UK's most respected gardeners and garden writers

Monty is also a prolific journalist and has been the gardening correspondent for the Observer since 1994. He has presented several TV gardening programmes including Real Gardens, Lost Gardens and three years of RHS shows.

Monty has always been at the forefront of debate on the environment and from 1994 he presented two series for the BBC on environmental issues. He is passionately committed to organic gardening as part of a sustainable lifestyle and greater environmental awareness. In Herefordshire, UK, where he has created an organic 2-acre plot, Monty outs his principles into action, growing healthy food for his family, re-using and recycling resources, and avoiding all chemical treatments.

An accomplished and inspiring writer, Monty Don has built up a considerable following through his journalistic work and has published several successful books, including, with his wife Sarah, the acclaimed gardening-cookery book Fork to Fork.
