Anne is a professional counsellor, journalist and best-selling author. She started her journalistic career as executive editor of Penthouse Forum in the 1970's, but it was really with the publication of her groundbreaking book The Body Electric in 1980 that her career as a writer and broadcaster really took off. Since then Anne's expertise are always in demand and she's worked as an agony aunt for Best and Living magazines and GMTV, acted as a consultant on Channel 4's Sextalk and written for numerous publications including the Daily Mail, The Guardian, The Express, Cosmopolitan, Woman, Woman's Own, Family Circle and Bella.

Her Ultimate Sex Guide has sold over a million copies worldwide and her Pocket Kama Sutra has consistantly remained the top selling sex book in the UK. In fact, in 1994, 4 out of the top 5 best-selling sex books were written by Anne and she outsold the Joy of Sex by about 15,000 copies.

Though now retired from counselling practice, Anne is an accredited member of the British Association of Sexual and Marital Therapists (BASMT), and registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). She founded the Women's Sexuality Workshop and frequently speaks to organisations such as Stepfamily, BASMT and the Post-Abortion Counselling Service.
